Resource Fairs

GNA-NM Resource Fairs create spaces where community partners and grievers unite to share information, strengthen support networks, and ensure that anyone grieving knows where to turn for help.

What to Know

*This event is for professional networking. There will be other opportunities for community members to explore resources at another resource fair in the Fall.

What to Bring

  • Handouts, flyers, or printed materials about your organization or services

  • Free giveaway items

  • Table cloth (if you want one)

  • Business cards

  • A brief verbal overview of your work (a 1–2 minute networking introduction works well) - see "Day Of Logistics" below

  • Anything you’d typically bring to a professional networking event

Staffing Your Table

  • We recommend 1–2 representatives per table.

  • If possible, consider bringing two people so one person can stay at the table while the other walks, connects, and networks.

  • We understand this isn’t doable for everyone — solo representatives are absolutely welcome. Or enlist a friend!

Table & Space Details

  • Tables will be provided and are primarily long and rectangular. Some will be circular. If you can bring a table or multiple tables, and would be willing to do so, we warmly invite you to contribute in that way. Please choose a whole or half table based on the size of your organization.

    • As space is limited, smaller organizations or solo practitioners are encouraged to reserve a half table. While we will do our best to honor requests, table assignments may be adjusted to move solo practitioners to half-tables if space reconfiguration is required.

  • Your space at the event will be pre-assigned.

  • Tables are provided.

  • Space is limited, so please keep displays simple. Standing banners may or may not be accommodated depending on space and participation.

  • Small table displays or banners that fit within the table space are welcome.

  • Power is not generally available and you should not plan on having it.

  • If you have accessibility needs or special requests, we’ll do our best to accommodate them.

Materials & Giveaways

You’re welcome to share:

  • Flyers or brochures

  • Business cards

  • Information about programs or upcoming events

  • Small giveaways (optional)

Please note: All materials should be free to take or explicit signage must be present if items are available for sale (e.g., books, crafted items, etc.).

Alignment & Expectations

This is a free, professional resource-sharing event for those supporting people in grief. We ask that all materials and conversations remain respectful, inclusive, and non-proselytizing, and align with grief-, trauma-, and end-of-life-supportive values.

Day-Of Logistics

  • Please plan to arrive by the designated set-up time: 11:00 AM.

  • We encourage participants to stay for most of the event to support connection and community building.

  • The resource fair will be open for browsing and networking from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM.

  • From approximately 1:00 – 1:30 PM, we’ll pause and invite whoever is interested for optional round-robin introductions in the chapel, giving each organization a brief two-minute opportunity to introduce themselves and highlight their services. You are not required to participate, and we want participants to know that this was a powerful point of sharing and community during our first resource fair.

Donated Prizes for Drawing

We will do a prize drawing at the event for several items. We would be honored if you and/or your organization would be willing to provide a prize for the prize drawing that will take place. (All organizations who sponsor a prize will be recognized at the event.) Please email Genna Reeves at greeves@heartlightcenter.org to coordinate the prize offering.
